No one knows your #child the way you do and don’t #believe anyone if they tell you otherwise. Just look at the #time you spend with them. Those early #sleeplessnights , their #first steps and the list just goes on.
Sometimes we #underestimate the amount of #learning that can be achieved just by our everyday #communication. The biggest #opportunity for #teaching lies in their #questionsandanswers. You have the chance to inject loads of useful #information which otherwise would be boring to them. #Promote a #culture within your household to let them ask as many #questions as they want and even the same question as many times as they want. We need to understand that it’s their first time absorbing than information and they may need a lot of time. Let me throw in an #example here:
I always wanted to teach my #daughter the #concept of #Allah swt (God) from a very young #age. So whenever she would #ask me that she needed something. I would ask her back, can you please ask Allah swt for it? A long #conversation would usually initiate by this. She wanted to know, who is Allah swt? How would He listen to me? Can He see me? and so on. On the other hand, if I would have just told her about the #creator, she would have probably #acknowledged without much interest.
Along this learning #journey you should also make an #intent that you will be learning with them. By the way, there is nothing wrong in telling them that you don’t know about something. Not only its the #truth but it will raise their interest to the next level because now you are going to be learning or #exploring with them. #Kids just find it more #fun if you do it with them. Additionally, it will give them #courage to #admit if they don’t know something instead of being ashamed. You should be ready to #research for them and they will have a #teacher that they would have never #imagined.
#Parents are really good #doctors by #default. Believe it or not, their capability to assess the #symptoms is just #astonishing. In fact, the doctors are somewhat #dependent on those symptoms in some cases. Parents usually start the #treatment by providing comfort and hope that no doctor can. Nothing against the doctors here but I’m just trying to emphasize what parents have in their #toolkit and its nothing short of #amazing.
More on different aspects of parenting will follow in another article In sha Allah .
